Bebe Cool with his son Alpha at Namboole watching the national senior soccer side playing. He has always supported his son's dream to play professional football

Singer Bebe Cool aka Moses Ssali’s son, Alpha Thierry Ssali was one of the scorers as his team Proline FC put 4 past MYDA FC in the Uganda Cup round of 32 today at the MTN Omondi stadium-Lugogo.

Kiwanuka Hakim, Brian Umony and Kizza Hamisi scored the other 3 goals for Proline as Liberian Armed SALEH scored the consolation for MYDA.

Alpha registered his first goal for the Proline senior team after two matches, having debuted last week against Nyamityobora in the Uganda Premier League.

Alpha netted Proline’s fourth on the day with sheer brilliance coupled with perfect execution, having come on in the 66th minute when his side was leading by three goals to nil.

And the celebration spoke volumes; it was a big statement to silence all his critics who have time and then accused the 17 year old of being “undeserving” for national team call ups. Most whom funnily enough have never seen play, but state so out of a biased judgement inclined from his father’s infamous suggestions and heavily contended political affiliation.

Alpha after scoring ran all the way to hug his dad after scoring; as if to say, “Thank you for believing in me”. Bebe Cool has supported his child’s dream to play football since he was only 3, and now the results of hardwork and persistence are starting to show.

At 17, Alpha is a regional gold medalist and continental silver medalist with the Uganda U-20 National soccer side.

    The Other Uganda Cup Results Today;

Gaddafi FC 1-0 Mbale Heroes FC.

Kataka Football Club Mbale 1-0 Tooro United Football Club.

Kyetume Fc 2-2 Express Football Club

URA Football Club 0-0 Team Mbarara City FC

Winners on aggregate after two legs will qualify to the Uganda Cup round of 16.

Xavi Tipped For Barca Return After Guiding Al Sadd To An Unbeaten Season In The QNB Stars League…

Al-Sadd players lift Xavi high in celebration after emerging victorious in a defeat-less season

Former Barcelona captain and Spanish international, Xavi Hernandez has won his fifth trophy as a manager after guiding Al-Sadd to a defeat-less season in the Qatar Stars League.

Al-Sadd ended the 2020-21 QNB Stars League campaign without a defeat, after a 3-0 win over Qatar SC in the Round 22 game which was played at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Friday.

“It was a great performance against Qatar SC, delighted to finish the season undefeated. The atmosphere in the team is wonderful. We are fully ready to compete in the AFC Champions League,” Xavi said after his victory.

With this victory, Al-Sadd ended the season with a tally of 60 points, from 19 wins, 3 draws and no single defeat and 77 goals scored, conceding only 14.

Khaled Mahmoudi’s own goal put Al-Sadd ahead in the 3rd minute, before Rodrigo Tabata doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 38th minute. Yousuf Abdurisag then completed the scoring in the 76th minute.

Al-Sadd got off to a strong start and got the breakthrough goal as early as in the third minute, when Abdelkarim Hassan entered the box from the left and tried to play a cross, which went in with a deflection off Qatar’s defender Khaled Mahmoudi.

Another goal arrived later in the first half, after Al-Sadd were awarded a penalty for a foul on Hashim Ali in the box. Rodrigo Tabata stepped up and converted the spot kick to make it 2-0.

As the game moved into the second half, Al-Sadd maintained their domination over the game, and managed to score a third goal in the 76th minute. Ali Asad dribbled into the box and laid the ball across to Yousuf Abdurisag, who scored with a first-time strike.

Xavi has been heavily linked with a return to the Spanish club in recent months, and indeed he is said to have rejected managerial position in January after the sacking of Ernesto Valverde.

Current Barcelona news is being dominated by the club’s upcoming presidential elections with both Victor Font and Joan Laporta plotting for Xavi to return to the Camp Nou under their regime should they win the election.
