Doctors give Hajat Madina ‘Bibuuza’ 3 months

Published

Doctors at Kiruddu General Referral Hospital along Salaama Road in Makindye Division, a Kampala suburb have given musician Hajati Madina 3 months to be operated upon or risk facing more deadly symptoms of her heart condition or worse still lose her life.

One of Madina’s sons told the Grapevine that her mother, who doctors say is suffering from Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD), needs 18 million shillings to be worked on.

“She is at the moment finding a lot of difficulty in breathing which has affected her speech, but the truth is we have nowhere to get this money. Doctors told us that some of her arteries to the heart got blocked and she needs to undergo an operation to have them unblocked but this has stalled because of lack of funds. The alternative medication that is being given to her currently is not enough. My mother was crying the other day and pleaded with Mama Fiina to forgive her and offer her some help,” the son told us.

What is Rheumatic Heart Disease…

Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is damage to one or more heart valves that remains after an episode of acute rheumatic fever (ARF) is resolved. It is caused by an episode or recurrent episodes of ARF, where the heart has become inflamed. The heart valves can remain stretched and/or scarred, and normal blood flow through damaged valves is interrupted. Blood may flow backward through stretched valves that do not close properly or may be blocked due to scarred valves not opening properly. When the heart is damaged in this way, the heart valves are unable to function adequately, and heart surgery may be required.

RHD is the most commonly acquired heart disease in young people under the age of 25. It most often begins in childhood as strep throat, and can progress to serious heart damage that kills or debilitates adolescents and young adults, and makes pregnancy hazardous.

Although virtually eliminated in Europe and North America, the disease remains common in Africa, the Middle East, Central and South Asia, the South Pacific, and in impoverished pockets of developed nations.

Symptoms

Symptoms of heart valve problems, which are often the result of rheumatic heart disease, can include: chest pain, excessive fatigue, heart palpitations (when the heart flutters or misses beats), a thumping sensation in the chest, shortness of breath, and swollen ankles, wrists or stomach.

If Bafana’s Crime Is Related To Fueling Spread Of COVID19, Arrest And Detain NRM Politicians – Bobi Wine Defends Fellow Musician..

Published

on

Kyadondo East lawmaker and National Unity Platform (NUP) Principal, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has accused government security organs of playing double standards on individuals and groups that oppose the ruling government.

The singer made the claims in connection to the arrest of fellow artiste Kasendwa Richard alias Ziza Bafana by government security officials. He says he is under detention illegally for not supporting Museveni and not necessarily defying COVID19 directives.

“Our brother ZizaBafana is under illegal detention, ostensibly for defying Gen. Museveni’s directives on COVID19,” he said.

Bafana and his colleagues went to sing in Tanzania and upon return, were quarantined together with his team for the mandatory two weeks. After 14 days, they were handed over to police instead of being allowed home as expected. Bafana has been complaining of mistreatment while in quarantine, including being deprived of food, harassment, etc.

“Bafana’s real crime is in fact not related to COVID19. He says it is simply because when he was in Tanzania, he spoke about Bobi Wine and promoted People Power on stage,” Bobi Wine said, insinuating that Bafana is being prosecuted for singing about People Power while under quarantine.

Bobi Wine insinuated that if at all Bafana’s crime was related COVID19, thousands of NRM politicians should now be in custody.

“Many singers who have been singing at NRM rallies should be under detention. Gen. Museveni himself was in Tanzania on the weekend. It is very shameful that a government can treat citizens this way and punish them simply for identifying with a political leader or political formation,” Bobi Wine added.

Bobi Wine vowed to not cease fire until only when his counterpart is released.

Musician Sadat Mukiibi alias Khalifa Aganaga has vowed to evoke the Male Mabirizi spirit after accusing Lubaga South legislator Hon. Kato Lubwama of illegally being in Parliament.

Aganaga who wants to stand for the Parliamentary seat in Lubaga South on National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket said he will if necessary seek for help from controversial lawyer, Male Mabirizi’s to see that Lubwama’s academic qualifications are produced and debunked.

“Lubwama is an old man now and was sent to Parliament by the people out of sympathy. And we are many individuals contesting on that same position, but he keeps talking about me because it’s me he fears, I am the one that makes him sick,” the youthful singer bragged, insinuating that Kato Lubwama is currently spending so much of his time in hospital because he is worried he might lose his seat to him.

The veteran singer cum politician said Aganaga is so amateur to him and has to first learn a few basic things in the business before he contests against him.

“Aganaga should first learn how to bathe, and clean his shoes so that they don’t smell for people before he attacks me,” the drama actor said, adding that he is not poor because for the past 35 years, he has built a big brand in the entertainment industry.

Lubwama, who had earlier requested voters to send him back to parliament promising to ‘eat’ with them this time.
