FDC Had Become A Political Cult Of Defiant People, They Had Deviated From The Values We Stood For, That’s Why We Quit – Alice Alaso

Former founder member for the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), who is now with the New formation party, Hon. Alice Alaso has disclosed the reason why most of them left the FDC party. In a telephone conversation with the Grapevine this morning, Hon. Alaso said that FDC had deviated from the strong principles most of them stood for and opted for only defiance which to them wasn’t right.

“I will speak for myself, Mugisha Muntu, Dan Mugalu, Hon. Ochola and many others. We wanted to build structures in the party from the grassroot and use them, but the current president rejected them, all they looked at was defying against everything. The party was taken by a cult group that only believed that everything could be solved by defiance thus isolating some of our ideas. You all witnessed last time during our meeting between FDC and Mr. Muntu, when a group of youth came and whisked away Eng. Amuriat Patrick Oboi like a chicken thief. It was embarrassing. Am a wife and a mother and I can’t allow such acts of a leader to be treated like a chicken thief,” Alaso said.

Asked about the fate of the MPS who declared that they have joined New formation from FDC, Alaso revealed, “No MP has crossed yet though many are willing because they don’t want disturbances of holding by-elections, they understand the rules that govern them and will have to wait untill 2020 probably.”

Hon. Alaso concluded that the party could officially launch in December, she added that they will reveal their headquarters and structures to the public then.

They Are Planning To Kill Opposition Big Wigs In 2021 Elections – Lord Mayor Lukwago

Published

on

Kampala city Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has revealed shocking secrets behind the 6,239 Local Defence Unit (LDU) passed by President Yoweri Museveni on Friday at Kaweweta Military training school.

While appearing on ‘palamenti yamwe’ program, a political talk show on CBS radio, Lukwago said that the purpose of the LDU is to kill opposition strong candidates in 2021 general election.

“Mr. Museveni has prepared well for the 2021 General Election and I can predict that most of us will be killed during the campaigns, he is training Entarahamwe to kill us like what they did in Rwanda during 1990 war,” Lukwago said.

He said that Museveni is living in fear of the outcome of the Supreme Court ruling on the age limit bill which might not be in his favour that is why he is increasing on the number of soldiers in the military.

Lukwago also revealed that Museveni is now fidgeting with the constitution to see how he can overcome the deadly 2021 elections because all the signs show that he is likely to lose.

The Lord Mayor predicted that the NRM caucus sitting in Kyankwazi are going to come up with recommendations to amend the constitution  and these recommendations shall be tabled before parliament by  General Kahinda Otafire after the supreme court judgement. Lukwago said that among the suspected recommendations from the Kyankwazi NRM caucus will include eliminating voting of the president by the general public. Instead the president will be voted by parliament.

He called upon his comrades in the opposition to avoid bickering with each other and fighting for their selfish interest. However, Lukwago’s allegations were challenged by PDP President Abed Bwanika who has also declared to stand against him in 2021. Bwanika said that Lukwago’s allegations are aimed at stopping Ugandans from preparing for 2021 general election. Bwanika said that what Lukwago and his colleagues have always said that every time there is an election. He called upon Ugandans to get their National identity cards and prepare to elect their leaders in 2021.

I Will Resign As FDC Electoral Commission Boss If They Put A Presidential Candidate Against Bobi Wine – Makerere Law Don Nsibambi

Published

on

Makerere University Law Don, Yusuf Nsibambi, who also doubles as the chairperson of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Electoral Commission has declared that he is ready to resign if his party makes a mistake and backs a presidential candidate against a people power candidate.

While appearing on ‘Kkiriza oba gaana’, a political talkshow on CBS radio, Yusuf Nsibambi revealed that 2021 is the only opportunity opposition has to take over power and they must use it carefully without bickering against each other. The Kampala land board chairman refuted rumours making rounds that FDC has already appointed people who are going to stand on their ticket. He said that its NEC, the top party organ which can make such a resolution not individuals as per the rumours. He said that he will be very furious if his party especially NEC decided to approve a presidential candidate to stand against the popular president produced by people power.

He called upon all leaders in opposition to join efforts and clean their house before 2021 because many people are now fighting for seats from Local Council level to parliamentary.vBobi Wine has already declared his intentions to stand against president Museveni in 2021.

Nsibambi also warned that many opposition members are already scrambling for places. He gave an example of Kawempe North where Muhammad Segirinya and Suleiman Kidandala, who are all from the opposition but are fighting. Another battle he mentioned is for the Kampala Lord Mayor seat which so far has the incumbent Elias Lukwago, Kawempe North Member of Parliament Latif Ssebaggala and PDP’s Abed Bwanika.

He warned that the opposition has to avoid what is going on in the Makerere Guild president elections where supporters of different candidates put on red colors and are claiming to stand on people power ticket but are fighting each other physically.

Earlier, Abed Bwanika confirmed that he was short listed among by the people power’s movement with Latif Ssebaggala to compete for Kampala lord mayorship.  He said that the people power movement made a resolution to put candidates on a very seat which is going to be voted for in 2021 general elections.  The three-time presidential candidate watered down DFC’S Kizza Besigye’s claim that he can win the 2021 election, Bwanika noted that Besigye is just over spreading historical propaganda which won’t matter in the coming elections.

However, the agriculture minister Vicente Bamulangaki Sempijja, who was also one of the panelists said that divisionism in opposition is going to help NRM defeat opposition in the 2021 elections.

He said that the bickering in different opposition camps shows that the gods are on their side and they are ready to receive their landslide victory in the next election.

He added that it a pity that old opposition politicians are just using  Bobi Wine’s popularity to achieve their failed political goals.
