Julius Katongole the National Unity Platform (NUP) Lubaga Division head of youths who also doubles as one of the assistants to Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) has exclusively confirmed to mighty Grapevine that last week, his boss held a highly secretive meeting with the four times presidential candidate and also the head of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Katonga faction Dr. Kizza Besigye.

He revealed that the meeting which was attended by very trusted members from both parties took place at NUP offices in Kamwokya a Kampala suburb.

He however divulged that whatever was discussed was about the political struggle against President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Highly placed source at Kamwokya disclosed that Besigye was accompanied by the vice president in People’s government and also Kampala City Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago and Harlod Kaija; Others included; David Lewis Rubongoya the NUP Secretary General; Alex Mufumbiro, the NUP deputy spokesperson and Winnie Kizza.

Sources said that the meeting agreed to a formation a political pressure group which will bring together all the forces of change to fight together to awaken the people of Uganda before the 2026 general election.

Sources said that Besigye assured the meeting that they have the capacity to force Museveni to make mistakes that will force him out of power especially at this time when he is in bad books with the United States of America, United Kingdom and some European countries.

Kira Municipality legislator Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda said that Museveni’s strong foreign allies have been the United States of America and United Kingdom and for a longtime, he has been fighting to make sure that he doesn’t lose them, however, this relationship is now waning.

The US and some European countries turned guns against Museveni after the passing of the Anti-Homosexuality Act and have been forcing him to cancel the Act but Museveni proved his defiance insisting that Uganda can stand without their support.

This has led to various western media outlets publishing syndicated bad articles against Museveni and his government.

In the Kamwokya meeting, they agreed to form the Uganda National Democratic Alliance (UNDA).

This was after rubbishing Bobi Wine’s proposal of naming the coalition Vvaamu Akatengo.

Insider privy to the details of the meeting told theGrapevine that Bobi Wine was told that Vvaamu Akatengo was not going to work for them properly especially in Northern Uganda, Teson, West Nile.

The coalition is composed of members from; NUP, FDC Katonga, DP faction led by Micheal Bayiga Lulume, UPC faction led by Constitutional law giant Peter Walubiri and Gen. Mugisha Muntu’s ANT.

Sources said that Bobi Wine was appointed to lead the struggle because of his position as the principal leading the main opposition political party in the country and his command towards youths who they are badly counting on to fuel their new force.

Besigye was appointed to lead the command because of his experience in defiance politics and his command in Kigezi Sub Region.

The meeting proposed the following people to command the proposed new force; Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba the Opposition Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LOP) and also NUP vice president in charge of Buganda should be assigned to command Buganda, Maj. Bayiga will be the treasury of the coalition and will be deputised by Francis Mwijukye who will also help in commanding Ankole and will be in charge of the budget together with Rubongoya.

It was also proposed that Joel Senyonyi the NUP chief spokesperson should be assigned as Secretary for Information and Publicity and will be deputised by Kaija.

It was proposed that Semuujju takes on the role of National Secretary for Mobilisation.

Regional Secretaries for Mobilisation include; Mukono Municipality’s Betty Bakireke Nambooze  for Buganda, Gilbert Olanya for Acholi, Roland Mugume Kaginda for Kigezi, and Paul Mwiru for Busoga Region.

It was suggested that Fred Nyanzi be assigned to take on the Security docket, and Nyakato Asinansi assigned for Bunyoro affairs and also secretary for Women Affairs.

The Coalition will also have a Council for Elders who will include; Kasiano Wadri from West Nile, Prof. Moris Ogenga Latigo from Acholi, Wafula Oguttu from Busoga, Wandela Ogalo from Bukedi, Livingstone Okello Okello from Acholi, Ben Wacha from Lango,  Miria Matembe from Ankole, David Pulkol Karamoja, Dan Mulika and Mulwanyamuli Ssemwogerere both from Buganda Region.

It is reported that the selection was made considering opposition numerical strength in Parliament, Gender, broad baseness and Regional Balance with a slogan, “UNITY IS POWER” but all the appointed personals have not yet informed about the development.

Sources told theGrapevine that the team is going to make sure that Museveni and his National Resistance Movement (NRM) don’t control the 4 million voters which are set to be registered by Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama’s Independent Electoral Commission to be added on the voters register for the 2026 general elections.

Butambala county Member of Parliament and also shadow Minister for Finance Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi revealed that President Museveni appointed and assigned former Bukomansimbi district woman MP Ruth Katushabe as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Translation to lead the recruitment and training of youths in learning Musevenism doctrine.

Kivumbi claims that Katushabe has been moving around the country talking to students in Secondary schools, universities and very soon, these youths are going to be taken to National Leadership Institute during holidays to be trained in cadre ship.

He explained that Museveni is very scared of the 4 million new voters because they are likely to support candidates in their age group particularly Bobi Wine and they can create confusion if Justice Byabakama doesn’t declare Bobi Wine the winner.

That is why he wants to compromise their minds before 2026 general elections.

He added that Museveni is very sure that majority of those youthful voters may not vote for his son and also Special advisor on special operations Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba because he still needs time to be part of them.

Kivumbi noted that they have also started a clandestine campaign to dissolve Katushabe’s message and they are moving school to school where she preached the Musevenism doctrine and so far, the results are very positive.

Kivumbi predicted that 2026 is going to be a hotly contested election. He warned Museveni that he may even collapse because of the results.

MASTERS OF CHAOS! Minister Mao Warns Bobi Wine To Prepare For The Worst From Mpuuga, DP Block Politicians…

NUP boss Bobi Wine. Inset L is DP's Norbert Mao and R inset is Matthias Mpuuga

Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister who also doubles as the Democratic Party President General Norbert Mao has warned National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) to prepare for the worst from Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba and members of the DP Block.

Exclusively speaking to theGrapevine, Mao explain that when he saw Mpuuga and his friends who were formally members of Suubi, a political pressure group and DP party crossing to NUP, he envisioned what is happening right now.

He added that the said people were a problem to DP and when they joined NUP, the DP problem crossed to Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine is under attack from members of his party who crossed from DP to NUP. They have even threatened to reveal their next political action next month at Mpuuga’s thanks giving ceremony where Charles Peter Mayiga the Buganda Kingdom premier is expected as the Chief Guest.

Highly placed sources revealed that Mpuuga and his group are planning to reveal a new political pressure group which will tour the entire country getting views from their supporters concerning their next course of action after disagreeing with Bobi Wine’s leadership.

George Musisi, one of lawyers for NUP accused Mpuuga’s blue eyed boy Samuel Lubega Mukaku of supporting the NUP faction led by Moses Kibalama.

Sources allege that Mpuuga’s faction are confident that Court is going to declare Bobi Wine’s leadership at NUP illegal and the party will return into the hands of Kibalama a move they think will give them the opportunity to use NUP as a vehicle in the 2026 general elections.

Other sources claim that Mpuuga and group are planning to use Buganda Kingdom leadership structures from the village level to mobilize support in Buganda come 2026.

Mpuuga is confident that it was Buganda structures that helped Bobi Wine to defeat President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his NRM party in Buganda and without them, Bobi will lose.

However, Nakaseke South legislator Paulson Lutamaguzi Ssemakula rubbished Mpuuga’s political calculations explaining that Bobi Wine will remain strong whether Buganda’s Mayiga supports him or not.

He asserts that Bwanika and Mpuuga are working for President Museveni and he has always deployed them whenever election period approaches and help him to divide and disorganize the opposition.

Ssemakula said that in 2021, when Bobi Wine was planning to work with Dr. Kizza Besigye, Bwanika abused Dr. Besigye and accussed him of working for Museveni to distract Baganda.

He added that in 2006, Bwanika swore an affidavit in support of Museveni against Dr. Besigye before the Supreme Court and his evidence saved Museveni and stamped his win.

However, Bwanika also accuses Bobi Wine of working for Museveni to stop the opposition from taking state power.

The Bobi Wine/Mpuuga misunderstanding deepened when Bobi Wine ordered him to apologise to the nation and return the Shs500m bribe he admittedly received from the parliamentary Commission as a reward for being a good Leader of Opposition in parliament. Mpuuga was also told to resign from the office of the Commissioner of parliament which he declined to do.

Bobi Wine also suspended Mpuuga from the office the national vice president in charge of Buganda region on top of sending him to the party disciplinary committee.
