Kajoba Has No Excuse Of Not Retaining The League Title For Vipers – Coach Makumbi…

Former Bunamwaya FC coach, Richard Makumbi has said that Fred Kajoba will have no excuses for not winning the Uganda Premier League title next season.

Makumbi who is the current head coach, for Mbarara outfit Nyamitoobora in the FUFA Big league added that Vipers management have given Kajoba everything he needs like; signing players of his choice and recruiting experienced Paul Kiwanuka from Bright Stars as his assistant coach.

Coach Makumbi says there will therefore be no excuse if Kajoba doesn’t win the league, because he has been given what he asked for to retain the league.

“If you are given what you ask for, you have to get the job done, there’s is no excuse for that, coach Kajoba must make sure Vipers are crowned league champions,” Makumbi emphasized.

The experienced coach however also cited the need for coach Kajoba to make winning at home traditional, and register victories on the road,  as part of his bargain.

Makumbi who was baptized the ‘King of promotions’ after leading various clubs to the Uganda Premier League from the FUFA Big League tipped Vipers for the title crown.

He however also noted that KCCA and URA have prepared well and are in for some stiff competition.

Uganda Edges Closer To Playing In World Cup After Kobs Beat Neighbours Kenya To Secure AFCON U20 Slot…

Uganda National under 20 team, The Kobs

The Uganda National under 20 team, The Kobs have earned a place in the AFCON U20 Finals.

The competition will take place next year in Mauritania.

Coach Morley Byekwaso’s boys have beaten Kenya in a semifinal to reach the Cecafa U20 Championship final in Arusha, Tanzania.

Uganda edged neighbours Kenya by 3 goals to one in the CECAFA U20AFCON Qualifiers. That result even before the final being played is enough as the top two teams qualify for Mauritania 2021.

Appearing at the AFCON is a broader opportunity because it also doubles as the U20 World Cup qualifying tournament.

Kenneth Semakula put Uganda ahead in the 22nd minute, Ivan Bogere also netted twice, in the 25th and 63 minute to seal the win for the Kobs. Kenya’s Enock Wanyana pulled one back for his team in the 80th minute.

Uganda’s last attempt to make the U20 Africa Cup of Nations ended in tears. Identical 1-0 victories for both Uganda and Cameroon took the two-legged second round tie into a penalty shootout, which the former lost 5-4.

“My primary target is to see that the team reaches the final of this tournament,” Byekwaso told the Fufa website before the tournament kicked off.

The U20 side have flip-flopped. They started with seeing red in a goalless draw with South Sudan before a 6-1 rout of Burundi with Braces from Ivan Bogere and Isma Mugulusi effectively burying the struggles of the opening day.
Byekwaso implored the same mentality today to emerge victorious against the Kenyans who topped group C with wins over Ethiopia and Sudan.

Preliminary Round

November 28, 2020

Uganda Premier League Champions, Vipers SC will host Al Hilal Club in the first leg of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League Preliminary round at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende today at 4pm.

There’s hardly any excuse for Kajoba’s side despite lack of competitive games as a result of the delay in resumption of the domestic league. The reigning StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions have done more than ample preparations and are in perfect shape for this anticipated encounter.

“We have been working on quite a lot and we are happy that the team is very positive. The lads are in great shape and beaming with confidence. We are keen to get the best results on Saturday,” says Kajoba.

This will be the first time Vipers is meeting Al Hilal Omdurman but the second time the former faces a club from the neighbouring nation of Sudan.
