KEEP QUIET: Since 2016 You Have Only Managed To Marry Off Your Daughter And Never Invited Besigye Or Bobi Wine But Museveni – Nambooze Stings Mbabazi

Published

Mukono municipality Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze Bakireke has attacked for Premier Amama Mbabazi for attacking 4 time presidential aspirant and former Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) president, Kiiza Besigye.

In a post on her Facebook page, Nambooze said, “Everyone will attack Besigye…Now the leader of The Movement for Silent and inactive politicians jumps into action. He had no opinion about Kasese murders, and Lubowa hospital,Ssebulime and other people’s murder, the revival of Uganda airline, the invading of Parliament, the Mbale Consititutional case, the Uganda-Rwanda conflict, Museveni’s sole candidature….The only function he has organised since 2016 was for marrying off his daughter and he invited not Besigye or Bobi Wine but Museveni….This great politician/ liberator has now came out to blame Besigye for refusing to hand over the opposition to him!”

The Mukono legislator was responding to a comment allegedly from Amama, who attacked Besigye saying, “The problem is Dr. Kizza Besigye doesnt believe in unity. And if its unity he always wants to be the main man to be the flag bearer. He has to learn to accept that things have changed now.”

NRM Is Like A Son To Mbabazi, You Cannot Separate Them, I Laughed When I Saw Opposition Jump Onto His Bandwagon – Minister Kiwanda…

Published

on

State minister for tourism Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi has revealed that former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has NRM blood flowing in his veins, hence he can never abandon the party.

While appearing on Buganda owned BBS TV’s Amaaso ku gwanga talk show, Kiwanda laughed at the opposition characters who jubilated and boasted that they had fished a whale from the NRM in Amama Mbabazi.

Kiwanda said that the Mbabazi he knows cannot just slaughter his son the NRM for street people like Mpuuga and Ssegona because he has invested a lot in it.

“I looked at my good friends Medard Ssegona and Mathias Mpuuga jumping on Mbabazi’s bandwagon, I wondered how they calculated their political cards. Let me tell you, Museveni can leave NRM but Mbabazi cannot,” Kiwanda revealed.

Kiwanda boosted that like Mbabazi, he was also among the 179 promoters of the NRM party who signed on the party’s constitution. He explained that Museveni was not among the people who signed on the party constitution because he was still a serving military officer and the law did not allow him to participate in the partisan politics.

Kiwanda assured Ugandans that more NRM historicals like Mzee Jaberi Bidandi Ssali and Charles Rwomushana  will soon follow Mbabazi back to NRM. The shadow minister for lands who also doubles as Nakaseke South legislator Paul Lutamaguzi supported Kiwanda saying that you cannot separate Mbabazi from NRM because he is among the people in the yellow bus who accumulated a lot of wealth.

He said that he tried to warn to his bosses in the Democratic Party to thoroughly investigate Mbabazi’s defection to the opposition before jumping on him as their presidential candidate in 2016 general elections but they never listened to him.

NRM Adopts Lining Up As A Mode Of Voting During Internal Party Elections…

Published

on

The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has endorsed lining up as a mode of voting during the party’s internal elections.

In a meeting held in State House Entebbe on Thursday, chaired by the party’s National Chairman Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, CEC further discussed the proposed amendments to the NRM Constitution which will be presented to the National Executive Council (NEC) on Friday for further consideration before forwarding them to the National Conference on Saturday.

The Party Senior leaders further discussed the advantages that come along with this proposed amendment some of which include:

1. Reduction in logistical and financial costs. There will be no procurement of ballot papers, buckets, indelible ink, pens and basins among other electoral materials.

2. It will provide for a desirable Party Cohesion because of being transparent.

3. It will uproot multiple voting.

4. It will reduce on temptations of election manipulation & commercialisation of politics.

5. Reduce on administrative costs the Party has been grappling with.

6. It will cure challenges of election postponement due to delays in production, packing, and transportation of huge volumes of election materials.

7. Lining up will be in conformity with the National Laws of Uganda especially the Local Govt Act.

8. Will cure allegations of ballot stuffing.

9. It will eliminate and make extremely risky the phenomenon of election managers swapping results.

10. Allegations of ghost Polling Stations will be eliminated.

UPC To Attend The NRM Delegate’s Conference, FDC Rubbishes Invite, People Power Not Invited…

Published

on

Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party Head of Media and Communication Muzeyi Faizo has revealed that UPC is ready to attend the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) delegate’s conference scheduled on Saturday 25th January 2020.

While addressing the press on Wednesday at Uganda House along Jinja road in Kampala, Faiza said that UPC believes in dialogue and it can use this chance to forward people’s voices to the president.

“We received the invitation card from NRM inviting us to attend, and we are organizing to be part of the conference. We believe in togetherness and dialogue,” he said. He added attending the delegate’s conference does not mean that they believe in the poor governance of the ruling NRM party and it does not make UPC part of NRM but it strengthens the relationship amongst Inter Party Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) party members. “UPC is part of IPOD and NRM too, our attendance does not mean that we are part of NRM but indicates that though we have differences in political beliefs, we are striving to see a peaceful Uganda,” Faizo added.

Unlike UPC, other opposition parties like Forum for Democratic Change Party (FDC) and People Power Movement have distanced themselves from attending the conference. In a short phone interview with the Grapevine, FDC deputy spokesperson John Kikonyogo revealed that the party received NRM’s invitation but unfortunately FDC has its own ongoing 15 years anniversary celebrations across the country therefore they cannot attend.

“Yes, we received the letter but the party has its internal celebrations so we will not be able to attend the conference but we wish them the best and we urge them to discuss developmental issues not how to loot our resources,” Kikonyogo said.

On the other hand, the People Power Movement spokesperson revealed that they were not invited, maybe because they are not part of IPOD.

The movement spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi said that even if NRM had invited them, they would ignore the invite because they have limited time remaining to the 2021 general elections. “NRM did not invite us, so I have nothing to comment about their gathering, but they know that we are busy since the elections are around the Corner. So, they helped us not to waste our time on an issue that does not bring change to our country,” Ssenyonyi said.
