LATEST FOOTBALL NEWS: Barcelona Lining Up €200M For Salah: Madrid Propose Shock De Gea/Ronaldo Swap Deal: Chelsea Agree Biggest Sleeve Deal In PL History

    Published

    on

Machester United star David De Gea could be heading to Real Madrid in a sensational swap deal involving Cristiano Ronaldo, reports in Spain claim.
The Old Trafford No 1 is a long-term target for Real, with the goalkeeper almost joining the Spanish giants in 2015.
And according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, Real Madrid have proposed a stunning swap deal to United involving De Gea and Ronaldo.
United are desperate to re-sign Ronaldo and bring the 33-year-old back to Old Trafford this summer.
And Don Balon reckon Real feel they can get De Gea AND £88m (€100m) for Portugal talisman Ronaldo.
United are said to be willing to lose their goalkeeper if it brings Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.
The Portugal star quit United in 2009 for a then world-record fee of £80m, with the attacker going on to become Real’s all-time leading goalscorer.
Ronaldo has also guided Real to three consecutive Champions League triumphs.
As for De Gea, the Spain international has been vocal on his future in recent weeks, with the Old Trafford No 1 refusing to rule out leaving United.
“My future? The important thing is the World Cup and not to think of anything else that can divert you or upset you,” said De Gea.
“You have to be focused on having a good World Cup – we are all good. Hopefully we can go far and win.
“Football is football and a thousand things can happen.
“But I’m always calm. Come what may, I’ll be the same. It is important to be focused and be 100 per cent.”

Lopetegui named new Real Madrid boss

Real Madrid have announced Julen Lopetegui as their new manager.
Lopetegui is currently the Spanish national team coach, but will leave the post once the World Cup has finished and take the reins at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He has signed a three-year deal at the Spanish giants and it will bring an end to his two-year spell as Spain boss.
Madrid were left stunned when Zinedine Zidane resigned less than a week after their third successive Champions League victory last month.
And Lopetegui will have a tough task following the Frenchman and is something of a surprise appointment.
Whilst he will be expected to bring through the young Spanish players – he spent four years coaching the Spanish youth teams – his most recent club job was at FC Porto, where he was sacked less than two years into the job, having failed to deliver any silverware.
He does have history at Real, though; as well as making one appearance for them during his playing career, the 51-year-old was the Real Madrid B manager for one season ten years ago.
Whilst Lopetegui will still take charge of Spain in Russia, it’s a blow to the Spanish FA and comes less than a month after he signed a two-year contract extension.

Chelsea Agree Biggest Sleeve Deal In Premier League History

Chelsea confirm they have agreed a deal with Hyundai to become their new official global automotive partner. The deal will see Hyundai’s logo appearing on the sleeves of their match shirt from the 2018/19 season in all domestic matches that feature the men’s, women’s and academy teams.
According to the Daily Mail, it’s the biggest deal of its kind in the Premier League, surpassing Arsenal’s £30m deal with Visit Rwanda, earning the Blues £40m over four years. Chelsea will wear their new shirts for the first time in Australia against Perth Glory in a pre-season friendly on July 23.
The official announcement on social media saw Chelsea fans given the chance to pose alongside Olivier Giroud, David Luiz and Tiemoue Bakayoko in an amusing video. It’s good news for the Blues’ commercial interests, but there’s a lot of uncertainty about the direction the club are going in.
Owner Roman Abramovich has been denied a UK Visa and recently halted plans to expand Stamford Bridge. After Chelsea failed to qualify for the Champions League for the second time in three seasons, Abramovich has lost a lot of money and was rumoured to be considering selling the club.
Despite the setback, their deal with Hyundai will see more money coming into the club, making up for some of the Champions League shortfall, but finishing in the top-four next season will be a priority.

Barcelona lining up €200M for Salah

Barcelona are lining up Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah as an alternative should they fail to land a deal to bring Antoine Griezmann to the Camp Nou.
Don Balon are stating that the Blaugrana have identified Reds star Salah the one they will go for if Griezmann doesn’t end up securing a move to the Catalan giants this summer.
Don Balon have reported in the past that Liverpool will ask for at least €200M for Salah, a somewhat extortionate price for a player that has only had one truly spectacular season.
Salah proved himself to be one of the best players in the world this season, with the Egyptian just missing out to Lionel Messi in the race for the European Golden Boot.
The former Chelsea and Roma ace managed to clock up a total of 44 goals in all competitions as he helped guide Jurgen Klopp’s side to a Champions League final.
Despite this absolute sensational form, Salah has only managed a season like this once so far in his career, which makes the €200M Liverpool are reportedly wanting for him seem a bit steep.

    Arsenal win Torreira race

Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal with Sampdoria for midfielder Lucas Torreira, according to Sky Italia.
Napoli were thought to be keen on the Uruguayan international, who has a €25million exit fee in his contract, but the report claims the Gunners are close to a deal.
Last month Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web claimed that Arsenal wanted to get an agreement in place in the coming weeks for the 22-year-old.
Over the weekend SampNews24 claimed the defensive midfielder had opted to sign for and now Sky in Italy have reported the same.

    Man Utd star to leave

Anthony Martial could be set to leave Manchester United for Tottenham.
That is the revelation this afternoon as bookmakers slash their price on the transfer happening this summer.
Jose Mourinho is tipped to axe Martial as he eyes another forward signing.
Spurs have been linked in the past and now bookies Coral have cut his odds from 5-2 to 2-1 to join Spurs.
Juventus are also in the running at 4-1, with Chelsea at 9-2.

    Liverpool transfer alternatives

Liverpool have five alternative targets if a move for Nabil Fekir fails.
Fekir was supposed to sign with the club last week but a deal is yet to be finalised.
And Sky Sports claim five men are available to the Reds if they decide to change their strategy.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt is one, with a valuation of £36.
Marco Asensio would also interest Jurgen Klopp but the Real Madrid star is more costly, at £67.5m.
The report claims PSG’s Julian Draxler and Christian Pulisic of Dortmund are also on the manager’s wish list, with respective prices of £31.5m and £40.5m.
And Monaco gem Thomas Lemar, who almost signed for Arsenal last summer, completes the list with a valuation of £58.5m.

Moses Golola (L) and General Fungu (R)

General Hamza Fungu has vowed to fight Moses Golola and send him into retirement come 26th December. 2022.

Fungu said this during the launch at Akamwesi gardens today.

Uganda’s middle weight kick boxing champion, Golola Moses is set to face his former trainer, General Hamza Fungu on bixing day at Akamwesi shopping mail gardens.

Golola, who is known for his many words said that he has beaten many fighters who were better than Fungu, “now look at this piglet, I’m going to show him why I’m called Golola Moses ‘of Uganda ‘  and I call upon Ugandans to come and be witnesses on that day.”

Though Golola said that he signed a contract which allows both fighters to fight until one gets tired, officials in charge of organizing the show said they will fight K-1 style for five rounds.

    Grapevine had a chance to sit down with Golola’s challenger General Fungu and and this is what he had to say;

theGrapevine: How are you prepared for this fight?

theGrapevine: Why, among fighters did you choose Golola?

Fungu: I have been asking to fight Golola for the last five years but he has been dodging me. He one time asked for 20,000 dollars to fight me.

theGrapevine: Why do you think he accepted this time around?

Fungu: I think this time, he has been given a lot of money.

theGrapevine: Which tactics are you going to use to defeat Golola?

Fungu : Golola has words but I have the tactics which will defeat Golola.

theGrapevine: Many people have come out to challenge Golola but he finally wins?

Fungu : He has been favoured many times.

theGrapevine: Is it true that the contract you signed for the fight allows you to fight until one of you gets tired?

Fungu : The contract is a disadvantage to Golola not me because I was born a fighter.

theGrapevine: What next after this fight?

Fungu : After this fight, I will fight three more three bouts and retire.
