MISS CURVY CONTESTANTS PHOTOS: Who Is The Bummiest Of Them All – Are These The Curviest Women In Uganda

Published

on

On 9th March 2019, the auditions of the highly publicised Miss Curvy beauty pageant took place at Bukessa based club Ambiance. Women with flesh flocked Club Ambiance to showcase what their mamas gave them.

The competition organiser Ann Mungoma told the Grapevine that over 400 girls and women took part in the auditions but they managed to pick only 30. Some of them were dropped because they were above the age of 35. The final event will be held on 26th April 2019 where the winner will walk away with a brand-new car and cash. The Grapevine managed to talk to some of the contestants who told us why they took part in the auditions:

Mariam Namukasa: I was brought by my friend who is a nursery school teacher. I decided to join miss curvy beauty pageant to show my husband who left me because of my size that I have ‘work’.

Among Esther Rihanna: I have always wanted to be a model but it was impossible because of my size, since they wanted the small girls. When they introduced this beauty pageant, I decided to show them what my mama gave me.

Nambatta Milly: I have come out because i have always wanted to win miss Uganda beauty pageant and couldn’t pass the auditions because of my size. I have embraced this since i am shaped.

Nakawuki Brenda Mugerwa: First, I love myself, secondly, I have what it takes to contest in this pageant. I want to show all those that talk ill about big sized women that we can do something.

Nakkazibe Linda: Many people talk badly about fat people and their bodies, this makes some of these people ashamed, I want to change that mind set.

Ayebare Joanna: Am here because people have been laughing and isolating me. My teachers and father have always been telling me that i am not going to get married soon because of my size.

Nakkazi Sumaiah: Many people used to backbite and laugh at me because of my size. This beauty Pageant has instilled some confidence in me.

Awori Esther: I have what it takes to run for miss curvy Uganda. Some men look at us as sex objects but I want to change their mindset and show them that we are also beautiful in our own way.

Musician Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleon has today morning presented a bus to Wakiso Giants FC at their home in Wakiso.

The Leon Island CEO who recently revealed that he will stand for mayorship in Kampala come 2021 narrated how he managed to acquire the bus for his favourite football club.

“It’s was a great morning as I presented a BUS to WAKISO GIANTS FC at the home ground in Wakiso. Upon my recent travel around the USA 2018,

As I was on my way to Phoenix, I fortunately sat next to one kind Man, as we chatted, he took me though an adventure of his business. I also shared to him who I was which got him overwhelmed and upon off boarding the flight we shared contacts and promised to reach out each other again.

Yes, we did when I met him again In Oregon, we talked about passions in which I told him of what I do beyond music. I love sports and – Wakiso Giants FC my team that I have loved and supported regardless!!

He picked a lot of interest and asked me what best he can contribute to us.

On more talk he mentioned that he had a bus company and asked Whether giving WAKISO GIANTS one would make a change. I was so happy and immediately reached the administration of this team because he only gave a bus to the team and wasn’t responsible to ship and pay tax for it.

Long story short the Bus is finally here and today morning I officially handed it to the team together with the FUFA president Mr. Moses Magogo. I am so proud that we have ability that we can exploit if given a chance,” Chameleone posted on his Facebook page.
