Nambooze Attacks Kusasira: You Bangled Up A Stolen Song

Published

on

Mukono Municipality Member Of Parliament (MP)Betty Nambooze Bakireke has attacked musician Catherine Kusasira over her recent ‘tears of a woman’ concert at Serena Hotel.

In a letter on her social media page, Nambooze blames Kusasira for failing to represent the tears of the Ugandan women and wasting a great opportunity.

“Tears of women by Kusasira needed a more composed singer who is nonpartisan but somebody who wants to bring out a voice for the women,” Nambooze said.

Nambooze said, “to Catherine Kusasira this must have been her attempt to rebrand…Moving away from funny love songs to venture into the world of using her music for advocacy and maybe sing some English. Am not one of those who were decampaigning Kusasira ‘s concert for we must teach ourselves not to persecute people we don’t agree with politically. We should be different from the junta that stops concerts by opposition Musicians.

In the song video Kusasira places her big bum before a piano and tries playing out lyrics of the song entitled “Tears of a woman”. Advocacy is one of the great things Musicians can ever engage in,it’s not our usual Music, it’s sang for the World and this is what Kusasira tried to put her hands on.”

She adds, “Yet the launch at Serena, fell far below that…in the end the message was lost and a great opportunity was wasted. Tears of women by Kusasira needed a more composed singer who is non partisan but somebody who wants to bring out a voice for the women.

Kusasira was singing about Domestic violence that target women as victims, she was singing against torture BUT maybe because she just bought that song from a composer who wanted money, Kusasira and her Chief guest Mr.Musevèñi forgot about the crusade and sank themselves in the petty beefing and vindictive politics that now characterise our Music and Politics in Uganda.

I am tempted to think that Kùsàsira’s song was drawn through perjury of Oleta Adam’s Tears of Fear a renowned song that calls on the World to free women from the bondage of Chains. So, I waited for Mr. Museveni to address this matter but he didn’t, instead he praised himself for having “ushered in peace which sees many Ugandans happy ” as exemplified by the audience at Kusasira’s show.”

Nambooze adds, “According to the latest Uganda Demographic and Health Survey (UDHS) of 2011, 56% of women from age 15 to 29 years have experienced physical violence and 28 percent of women have experienced sexual violence in their lifetime. That means that more than half of Ugandan women have been abused at home, at school, or at work.

Sexual violence, especially against girls, is equally widespread with 77.7% of the primary school children and 82% of the secondary school students experiencing sexual abuse while at school.

The attacks differ: 8% of girls are subjected to defilement, 24% are spoken to in a sexual way, 18% receive marriage proposals, and 25% are fondled/touched in a sexual manner while 29% are made to watch sexual scenes (pornography). Of the female students sampled, 67% of reported to have been sexually abused by a male teacher.

Prevalence of child marriage in Uganda is 40 %. Prevalence of child marriages is highest in northern Uganda estimated at 59%, followed by Western region (58%), Eastern region (52%), East-central (52%), West Nile (50%), Central (41%), Southwest (37%), and lowest in Kampala (21%).

The estimated prevalence of FGM/C among girls and women between 15-49 years of age is 1.4%. Up to 134,000 women are affected.”

“Up to 25 percent of adolescents aged 15-19 have begun childbearing and 19% of women aged 15-19 years have given birth. Adolescent childbearing is more common in rural than in urban areas (27% versus 19% respectively).

These are the tears that Government must wipe off women faces of course plus other things that have made the lives of Ugandans miserable. This was also the right moment for Museveni to tell us about how far he has gone with the provision of free sanitary pads for school girls,…he forgot or he doesn’t have anything to tell the women; his government has let them down,” she notes.

Nambooze says that, “The song which Kusasira domesticated runs:

Lyrics

You better love loving and you better behave

You better love loving and you better behave

Woman in Chains

Woman in Chains

Calls her man the Great White Hope

Says she’s fine, she’ll always cope

Woman in Chains

Woman in Chains

Well I feel lying and waiting is a poor man’s deal

And I feel hopelessly weighed down by your eyes of steel

It’s a world gone crazy

Keeps Woman in Chains

Trades her soul as skin and bones

Sells the only thing she owns

Woman in Chains

Woman in Chains

Men of Stone

Men of Stone

Well I feel deep in your heart there are wounds Time can’t heal

And I feel somebody somewhere is trying to breathe

Well you know what I mean

It’s a world gone crazy

Keeps Woman in Chains

It’s under my skin but out of my hands

I’ll tear it apart but I won’t understand

I will not accept the Greatness of Man

It’s a world gone crazy

Keeps Woman in Chains

So Free Her

So Free Her

I Can’t Love You By Force! Don Solo Tells ‘Lugambo’ Queen Zahara Totto…

Published

on

NBS “UNCUT Kalakata” gossip show host, Zahara Totto has been publicly dumped and already replaced with another girl, by her South Sudanese boyfriend, Tony Suleiman aka Don Solo.

“Zahara, I am done, please forgive me, I am out of this relationship,” Don Solo is heard assuring the mother of two, whom she has already replaced with another city beauty, a one Queen Ann.

Don Solo, in a leaked audio phone call recording finally decided to call it quits, accusing Zahara for being extremely disrespectful to everyone on top of insulting his parents. He says she pelted stones at his pastor friend, labeled his mother a bitch, and insulted their gate man on several occasions. Zahara is overheard in the audio clip regretfully saying she does not care about anyone but him.

The MTN Momo Nyabo brand Ambassador then quickly took her fury to her Snapchat social media account, to publicly declare to her followers how she had dumped his “cheating” boyfriend, on seeming to realise that her lover had made up his mind against her, branding him all sorts of nasty names.

After her break up incident, the self styled gossip queen ably appeared on her NBS daily “UNCUT Kalakata” show clad in her blue suit, but decidedly kept numb about her own ugly short comings and rather talked so much about the Eddy Kenzo leaked audio about Bobi Wine.

Apparently, Don Solo is the man who gifted Zahara an old BMW on her birthday which would shortly after on alleged to be a stolen car. The story was aired on her own show.

Zahara Totto and Don Solo who met early 2019 have since had a relationship characterised by dramatic stunts. The pair bitterly broke up towards December. Don Solo decided to replace her with a new woman and in retaliation, Zahara also publicized her affair with another man.

The motor mouthed show host is heard repeatedly pleading with her lover who seems not interested at all to give her another chance in love. He instead reminded her of how she has been assuring him of how she could possibly replace him within no time.

“No, Please No, Don’t do it… Baby Baby, Do I beg you sometimes, so if I am begging you today that means I made a mistake, whatever happened, I was drunk, I am sorry,” Zahara pleadingly cried, justfying her radical actions to have been triggered by his own promiscuous dating habits.

“It is not the first time you are drinking. I am not comfortable with this relationship anymore, I just want to move on,” Don Solo emphasized.

In a bid to save their one year old relationship, Zahara tried but in vain to plead with his lover who seemed to have already made up his mind and did not want anything to do with the relationship again.

You Want To Kill Me Because You Fear Competition, You Are Not A Leader, Even M7 Who You Call Ruthless Has A Softer Heart Than You – Kenzo Stings Bobi Wine…

Published

on

Ugandan artist Edrisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo has vowed to support the incumbent president Museveni and frustrate Bobi Wine’s political prospects in the coming elections should the latter keep demeaning him.

Kenzo says the Kyadondo East MP, who is also a presidential aspirant in the forth coming elections is acting superior and demeaning other big artists for his own selfish political gains.

In his own opinion, Kenzo said that even Museveni who is widely regarded as ruthless has a ‘softer heart’ than Bobi’s. The big talent boss decried of Bobi’s mysterious treatment to fellow artists, Geoffrey Lutaaya, Kampala mayor aspirant Joseph Mayanja alias Chameleon and newly defected Ronald Mayinja in a way he regards as disrespectful, in disguise fronting mediocre Kabako and mysterious Nasser Ntege Ssebagala.

Eddy Kenzo who recorded his break out hit song with Bobi’s brother Mickie Wine in Bobi’s studio described the NUP founder and leader as a traitor and self anointed show off King.

Kenzo who emphasised he has kept a lengthy distance between himself and active politics referred to Bobi as a politician who will devise on any smart or dirty means to manipulate the voter’s minds in his favor.

“Both government and opposition campaigns and projects are non of my business. I am an artist who has neither any intentions nor history in politics. Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine are your typical politicians with a political background, not me,” the “Tweyagale” hitmaker furiously ranted, accusing Bobi of intending to downgrade all the other big artists.

On returning to the country only a couple of days back from West Africa where he was locked down, Kenzo who has won a couple of awards on and across the African continent claims Bobi Wine’s camp went as far as holding a secret meeting in which they devised means to campaign against him winning the Nigeria Achievers awards 2020, where he has been nominated in the best male category.

“I suffered in West Africa, I desperately needed help, but I never received a single penny from Bobi Wine,” Kenzo added.

The first ever Ugandan BET award winner stated that he is his own big brand and cannot be manipulated by any politician, or political movement. He swore to not apologise to anyone and hinted that if need be, he will vacate the country.

Eddy Kenzo revealed how he rejected a 600 million Uganda shillings offer from the ruling NRM to be a part of their campaign trail in the last elections, a sum he says he has never been given by Bobi Wine, citing how he performed at the Kyadondo East lawmaker’s “Kyarenga” concert for free, from which same concert he says Bobi resourced close to a billion Uganda shillings.

“I have many haters who have paid media entities to soil my reputation, media houses have been paid to not play my music and falsely brand me gay, they want me to die because I subject them to intense competition they can not bear,” Kenzo lamented.

Eddy Kenzo acknowledged his love and respect for Bobi Wine, but however vowed to not dance to his ‘selfish’ political tune.

Musician Mayinja Makes U-turn, Seeks Solace In Bobi Wine’s NUP….

Published

on

Bobi Wine with Mayinja

After a short spell away, veteran artist, Ronald Mayinja has returned to the mainstream opposition from his own Peace for All political movement.

Mayinja was most active in politics as a member of the Democratic Party (DP) before party officials denounced him following his performance at one of the ruling party’s (National Resistance Movement) event last year.

The motive was however linked to his close collaboration with the rebellious DP members, such as the Mukono Municipality MP, Betty Nambooze, who has been at loggerheads with the party President, Nobert Mao.

Mayinja was warmly received by newly formed National Unity Platform (NUP) president, and fellow artiste, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, alongside others artists Hussein Ibanda aka Swengere and Aloysius Matovu Joy.

The “Tuli ku bunkenke” singer who earlier on had initial intentions of contesting for MP in his home area in Gomba publicly declared that he has not offered himself for any political position.

Besides all the anomalies, the soft spoken singer evidently has a soft spot for the People Power political pressure group led by fellow artiste Bobi Wine. He was quick to apologize to all his, and NUP fans, and his reconciliation seemed to come so easy.

“My brother Ronald Mayinja has inspired many of us over the years, and I am sure even when he wandered off at some point, I know that his heart was always with us. I am grateful that you comrades have given him a warm welcome back home,” Bobi said.

Bobi also commended comedian Swengere for not only being funny but also intelligent, thoughtful and solid human whose heart is with the people.

On Aloysious Matovu, Bobi referred to him as an elder and senior citizen who has been a personal inspiration over the years.

“I feel extremely humbled seeing such a noble citizen come to join NUP. All these things are evidence that we represent what is right and just,” Bobi added.

NUP embraced many other leaders at different levels. These included the KCCA Speaker, Kawalya Abubakar, and several other KCCA councillors, Division councillors, and leaders of other areas.
