OPINION: The Useless Elite! – Frank Gashumba On Gen. Katumba’s Shooting…

    Frank Gashumba

They have gone to the best schools but if you did a DNA test on their character, you will find there’s no difference between them and a Hyena in Kidepo National Park! Actually, they’re scavengers!

The assassins that took away the lives of Gen.Katumba Wamala’s daughter and driver(R.I.P), left him bleeding but we thank God he is still alive.

As he continued to bleed, these useless elites were driving passed him in their posh SUVs some bearing Government Number Plates, completely unbothered or showing any compassion to the bleeding general.

The Boda Boda members of our community who the elites refer to as hooligans are the ones who mobilized themselves and rushed the General to Hospital for first aid.

My sincere appreciation goes to the Boda Boda riders for their exhibition of the highest level of humanity(Ubuntu)

Amidst that chaos, one Boda Boda rider is heard in the video saying; “if he has refused to go, we need to drag him to hospital by force”.
Today’s incident leaves behind a powerful lesson to reflect on; Never under-look any person based on their level of education or the work they do. One day he/she might be your savior.

Who knew that one day, a four star general, a former CDF, a former inspector General of Police and Minister would be saved by a Boda Boda rider? Very strange but true!
Moral of the story; compassion is a much needed human value!

Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) boss, Gen. Salim Saleh yesterday disclosed that if he wanted to bring back Turkey based blogger Fred Lumbuye, he would do it in a blink of an eye.

Speaking to relatives and friends at the occasion, Saleh noted that the devil is a very big liar and sometimes very tricky.

“If I want Lumbuye, I can bring him tomorrow, you know me. If I need Mumiransanafu today, I can pick him. Because for me my job is to be on the ground,” Saleh warned Bloggers Mumiransanafu and Lumbuye who have been spreading information that the president’s young brother died and government is hiding his body.

Saleh added that the country needs harmony in every aspect so that people stop discriminating or hating each other on the basis of trivial matters such as tribes.

He therefore urged people to do away with tribalism because it is a bad thing.

“Tribalism is bad as you start looking at yourself as tribes then the whole society with collapse,” he noted.

The occasion was attended by his friends and family who included; Sam Kavuma,  Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde, Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi and former CDF David Muhoozi.

Museveni Bans Land Evictions In Uganda…

    Published

    on

President Yoweri Museveni has banned all land evictions in the country that are carried out without the consent of the respective District Security Committees (DSC).

In a letter dated February 28, 2022, addressed to the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, using his powers under Article 98(1) and 99(1) of the Constitution that enjoins him to ensure good governance and protect the Constitution, the President directed that:

“No eviction should be allowed to take place in a district without the consent and direct observation of the District Security Committee (DSC), chaired by the Resident District Commissioners /Resident City Commissioners (RDCs/RCCs) and direct consultation with the Minister of Lands.”

Museveni further warned that if this is not done and the illegal evictions go ahead, the members of the District Security Committee will all be held responsible and action will be taken against them.

Faruk Kirunda, the Deputy Presidential Press Secretary confirmed the development. However, he noted that the directive excludes the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) representatives who may not be in the know of the substance of the issues involved.

In the same communication, Museveni requested His Lordship the Chief Justice to prevail upon the Justices and Magistrates who violate the Constitution by illegally evicting people in collusion with land grabbers.

He further directed the Minister of Lands to inform the Attorney General about such abuses by judicial officers so that legal action can be taken against them.
