Suspended Lubaga Division RCC Burora In More Trouble As Intelligence Kicks Off Plans To Resurrect Files Where He Is Cited In Fraudulent Deals…

    Burora handing over office today

Highly placed sources at police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have revealed that orders were issued to detectives to resurrect criminal files implicating suspended Lubaga Division Deputy Resident City Commission (RCC) Herbert Anderson Burora in the multibillion fraud scandal.

Hajji Yunus Kakande the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President confirmed that Burora was suspended and he is going to be subjected to further investigations on allegation of attacking the person of Annet Anita Among the Speaker of parliament.

Borora was among the many Ugandans who condemned the alleged corruption and mismanagement of taxpayers’ money at parliament.

Using his x handle, Borora compared Among’s alleged extravagancies to France’s flamboyant Queen Maria Antoinette.

Kakande said that when Borora started attacking Among on social media, he was summoned by his bosses and cautioned but he continued hence his suspension.

On Monday, Borora handed over Office boasting that he will continue fighting corruption in the country. He promised to brief the media on his next move on Thursday 21st March, 2024.

“Today, I handed over The Office of the Deputy Resident City Commissioner in Lubaga Division. Five years and five months of my Service are worth bowing out honorably. It’s not about the office/Job as Madam Anita thought, It’s about the Service. I had all the options to choose the Job or to remain true to my conscience. I chose the latter. In my tour of duty, there are those that I didn’t satisfy for one reason or the other, but majorly, I served the way I was supposed to do,” he said.

A furious Burora added, “I may not be able to measure my legacy, as a representative of the President, but I’m sure there is not a single day that I didn’t represent him to the best of my knowledge” confident speaking Borora said. He was also quoted earlier “My suspension emanated from my criticism of the Speaker’s expenditures and the affairs of @Parliament_Ug. How can a local radio station be allocated billions of shillings when UBC TV, a national television, is struggling financially? I would rather lose a job than bend low to corrupt officials in a country where corruption is becoming a new normal.”

However, Kakande insisted that Burora abused his office because public servants like him have rules and procedures they have to follow when communicating on issues that involve their superiors, that is why it was wrong for Burora to attack a full Speaker of parliament who is number three in the country’s leadership rank on social media.

Burora recently officially married his beautiful wife is facing a high hill to climb because of the number of enemies he has including those in the opposition led by Kampala Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago who wants him to be imprisoned on allegations of fraud.

Highly placed sources at CID told theGrapevine that detectives are currently studying the criminal allegations on pending files opened against Burora since he was still Nakawa Division Deputy RCC.

Source disclosed that among the allegation against Burora is that he sold a piece of land meant for KCCA Youths a long Success Motors Ltd, opposite Pepsi Cola along Nakawa Jinja Road at Shs1bn.

Detectives are also studying a criminal file where Burora is alleged to have been involved in a land scandal where he attempted to evict youths who are dealing in flowers from their land around Wankonko in Bugolobi after promising to sell it to one of the tycoons in Kampala.

Burora was also dragged in the fraudulent land transaction in Mutungo zone 4 Nakawa Division and was later forced to compensate the owners of the land.

Lukwago is also spearheading the fight against him to make sure that he is jailed. He accuses him of fueling divisions in Kampala city by creating parallel cliques against his boss the Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Amina Lukanga and sabotaging government programs.

He is also being accused of sabotaging government programmes like when he suspended the Parish Development Model (PDM) operations insisting that KCCA officials included ineligible people.

Burora’s enemies also accuse him of halting the operations of National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) and the Community Driven Development, citing ghost beneficiaries.

However Burora looked determined today to fight back and threatened to expose opposition leaders who are in Among’s pockets.

He gave Lord Mayor Lukwago up to Tuesday to explain himself on the multi million deal he sealed with Among.

“You have up to Tuesday to declare your Affiliation with Anitah Among.  Short of that, we shall be forced to declare you as an affiliate in her ongoing subversive activities. It’s high time we weed out all corruption weeds,” Burora stated

Mukula Panics Over FDC’s Adeke Statement On Opposition Plans TO Infiltrate NRM’s Yellow Book…

    Published

    on

Anna Adeke Ebaju (L) and Cpt. Mike Mukula (R)

Flamboyant flight Captain Mike Mukula the National Resistance Movement (NRM) National Vice Chairperson in charge of Eastern Uganda is panicking over statements from Forum For Democratic Change’s Anna Adeke Ebaju who rallied her people to infiltrate the yellow book.

During women’s day celebrations in Soroti district, Adeke, who is also the Soroti district women legislator encouraged all FDC members and other opposition supporters to use all the available means to benefit from the government socio-economic transformation programs to energize their political struggle against Museveni’s government.

She told her supporters that if there is a way for them to be registered in NRM members’ registration book in Soroti so as to overcome suspicion that government operatives have against them which has resulted into them being sidelined when it comes to benefiting from government projects, let them do so.

She explained that she has received a number of complaints from FDC supporters, especially poor women in Soroti that security operatives have denied them the opportunity to benefit from government development projects like Emyooga and Parish Development Model because they belong to the opposition which has kept them in absolute poverty.

Adeke said that the money that operatives are denying FDC members is from taxpayers.

She warned them against the ongoing propaganda that for one to access government money to develop themselves, they have to first join the NRM party.

Adeke joins four time presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye and FDC president Patrick Amuriat Oboi who have previously also mobilized opposition supporters to access government development funds.

Adeke’s statement placed Mukula as a member of the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) in a hard place because his boss president Museveni directed him to oversee the just concluded NRM Registrar cleanup exercise to make sure that only NRM members are registered.

During the launch of the Register cleanup exercise at NRM party headquarters along Kyadondo road Kampala city, Museveni warned party Registrars and other party bosses assigned to lead the exercise from registering opposition members and leaving out NRM members based on their internal political background.

Museveni assured them that whoever is arrested will be criminally charged with offences related to fraud and be imprisoned.

Hoima Sugar, Bunyoro Kingdom Bosses In Trouble After Environmentalists Threaten To Petition M7 Expose Their Multibillion Dirty Deals On Bugoma Forest Land…

    Published

    Dickens Kamugisha

Environmental activities under their umbrella Save Bugoma Forest Campaign have threatened to expose the multibillion dirty deals sealed off by Hoima Sugar Limited and Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom bosses on the forest land that covers 41,000 hectares.

Speaking to journalists at Hotel African Kampala, environmentalists led by Dickens Kamugisha revealed that they are going to petition President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to intervene and save the natural forest from being grabbed by money minded members of the public who don’t think about the future of the country.

Kamugisha thanked Museveni and his cabinet for directing the Ministry of Lands in 2019 to open boundaries for Bugoma forest to determine whether Hoima Sugar Limited encroached on the forest land a move that was meant to resolve the other pending boundary verification exercises as ordered by courts of law to ensure the conservation of forest lands.

He revealed that their umbrella body consists of members of the Civil Society, Private Sector and the forest host communities.

He added that they petitioned the Ministry of Lands Housing and Urban Development’s department of Surveys and Mapping to also participate in the exercise of opening boundaries by sending their private land surveyors but they were sidelined and didn’t participate in the entire exercise which resulted into producing a half-baked report on the matter.

Kamugisha said that the report does not provide definitive findings on whether Hoima Sugar encroached on the forest land but it instead relied on illegally obtained certificate of land registrations, the illegal Environmental Social Impact Assessment certificate, the search statement, court judgments to reach findings that the sugar company is utilising the leased land legally.

He alleged that Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom illegally leased the forest land to Hoima sugar claiming ownership which is not true because the forest land was gazetted as a Central Forest Reserve land.

“Corruption must be rooted out to protect our forests. Those illegally obtaining land titles must be held accountable to preserve Bugoma forest because it is vital for our environment and any attempts to encroach upon it must be stopped to protect our ecosystem,” Kamuhisha said.

He pleaded with the concerned government authorities to with immediate effect prosecute all individuals involved in corruption which resulted in giving up of the forest.

“We want to know who took the timbers, wood and materials from the trees which were cut down to plant sugarcane. Money was in billions of shillings and Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom officials, Hoima Sugar bosses, should explain to the country,” Kamugisha said.

He urgently asked President Museveni’s government to address the gaps in the survey report on Bugoma forest and make positive recommendations for the conservation of the forest.

He also asked the Ministry of Lands to cancel all illegal and fraudulent land titles in the forested areas and protected reserves.

Kamugisha requested government to tell the public whether Bugoma forest land still exists, if not, where part of the forest land is.

He asked the concerned authorities to stop intimidating activities challenging the illegal giveaway of forest land with trumped-up charges to silence them.
