They Mixed Up VVIPs With Mzee’s Rowdy Ghetto Friends – Minister Mbayo, Lt Col Ankunda In Trouble Over “Dis-Organising” M7’s Shs10bn Inauguration Ceremony…

Top diplomats in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officers in Uganda Investment Authority and top leaders in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) are set to petition President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni regarding the “disorganized” way Luuka Woman Member of Parliament (MP) Esther Mbayo who is also the Minister for presidency and Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda messed up the swearing ceremony at Kololo Independence grounds on Wednesday.

Multiple credible sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the Uganda Investment Authority have disclosed to theGrapevine that they have received negative response and complaint from dignitaries and investors on the way they were attended to at the ceremony.

“Also the organisers failed to give comfortable Seats to our esteemed guests, it’s a shame and we have to put the issue before the president so as the organisers look at their mistakes and avoid such blunders and consider protocol,” a source said.

He wondered how diplomats and top rich investors had to stand for hours before being attended to by the organizers until State Minister for investments Evelyne Anite rescued them by getting them seats.

A top diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign affairs further said that it was shameful seeing diplomats like U.S. Ambassador Natalie E. Brown sitting on a plastic chair without a cover cloth.

One of the NRM senior cadres also wants Foreign Affairs junior Minister, Henry Okello Oryem to explain why he kept on pleading with Mbayo to allow State minister for Children Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi’s alleged daughter to present a speech as a poem which took almost 10 minutes that was wholly detached from the function.

The official accuses Okello of using Nakiwala’s alleged daughter to praise Museveni for “pampering” relatives of the former presidents in an attempt to catch his eye in the new cabinet which very soon is going to be announced.

Sources at the NRM secretariat were also unhappy with Mbayo because members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) led by party’s Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba reached at Kololo and there were no seats and had to stand until Richard Todwong, the party’s Deputy Secretary General and Emmanueal Lumala Dombo, the party’s Director of Communication and Public Relations pleaded for seats.

Top officials at the NRM secretariat want Mbayo to explain to the president the alleged hatred she portrayed against the Catholic Community and the Orthodox Church because she deliberately refused to recognize them. Bishop Anthony Zziwa of Mityana and the acting Kampala Archbishop Paul Ssemwogerere were hidden and after the ceremony they both complained to Minister Nakiwala.

Cultural leaders were also not happy with Mbayo’s organisation. “I was asked  to represent my King and the Kingdom, looking at the Cultural leaders tent honestly, I only imagined if my King was in the Country, how could we have sat him on such chairs? And this time round, we were thrown so far away” a top cultural leader of one of the respected Kingdoms in Uganda said.

Senior presidential advisors also raised complaints in reference to the way they were treated at Kololo which made a certain government official to remove Maama Theresa Mbire, the mother to tycoon Charles Mbire to another  well organised tent.

“Let me tell you, I was embarrassed to see top ministers fighting for chairs to sit in the same tent with Full Figure, she grabbed one of the Ministers from Northern Uganda and they exchange bitter words, she was not paying attention to the Minister’s english, and neither was the Minister understanding her vernacular,” a senior diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed.

Newly elected Members of Parliament and a few old others who were invited also blasted Mbayo’s poor organisation; “The organisation was very poor, we fumbled infront for a chance to witness the president inspect the parade because those people placed our tent so far away l we were not even able to see what was going on,” Dan Kimosho Atwijukire, the MP-elect Kazo Constituency said.

Other MPS said that they were made to seat in a wet far away place with no screen, a reason they gave for living the ceremony very early.

Mbayo is further accused together with her co-master of ceremony, the former army spokesperson, Lt Col Paddy Ankunda of embarrassing the country by continuously mistaking the titles of the dignitaries at the ceremony.

Mbayo introduced Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi as “Right Honourable His Excellence the President” before addressing Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) president Jimmy Akena Obote as the leader of opposition.

Lt Col Ankunda is accused of introducing the First lady and senior Minister of Education and Sports as “Her Excellency Mama Janet Museveni infront of senior diplomats.”

“Afande Tibuhaburwa was busy ranting on how he will be fighting corruption in his new term. But everything around him including what he was using to address the nation was actually corruption. Approximately Shs10bn spent? Mbayo won’t see heaven! an official who attended the event exclaimed.

The NRM cadres at the secretariat also accuse Mbayo of not properly distributing food to the guests because it was given to only a few visitors. They were more than the seats.

Not only officials, but other ordinary  NRM diehards too faulted Mbayo for “dis-organising” Museveni’s event.

Events organiser and City tycoon, Balaam Bagaruhara Ateenyi faulted the the Kololo event planners, denying being a part of it. The event was managed by Digida Event.

“Government officials should learn from the Wednesday experience and plan well next time to avoid humiliation to our great and very important invited guests. A nice plastic chair is hired at the cost of Shs3000 from Fotegenix, its cover hired at a cost of Shs350 each,” Balaam lamented.

Hajji Yunus Kakande, one of the top organizers of the presidential swearing-in ceremony made our calls to him were left unattended to.

However, sources close to Kakande told this reporter that the old man’s power to plan and organize the event was taken over by Mbayo and he was only left to spectate.

“She (Mbayo) thought that she was very powerful because of the time she has spent in that office, she uses the ceremony to get revenge on whoever annoys her,” an official on the organizing committee who preferred anonymity told theGrapevine.

Efforts to reach Minister Mbayo were futile as both her known daytime telephone numbers were not going through.

NUP Speaks Out On Bobi Wine’s ‘Fraudulent’ Academic Papers…

    Published

Bobi Wine (L) with lawyer Male Mabirizi (R)

National Unity Platform Party (NUP) has spoken out on the fraudulent academic papers of their president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine.

Earlier this week, Law Development Centre grade one magistrate Augustine Alule issued summons directing Kyagulanyi to appear in Court on 7th of October 2021 and answer charges against him.

Controversial city lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi opened up a private criminal prosecution against Kyagulanyi over his academic papers.

In his case, Mabirizi accuses Bobi Wine of fraudulently being admitted to Makerere university on government mature entry in October 2000 when he was not qualified.

The maverick lawyer insisted that by the time Kyagulanyi  was admitted to study a Diploma in Music, Dance and Drama at Makerere University, he was 20 years old yet the requirement for somebody to qualify for mature entry is 25 years and above.

Mabirizi based on the evidence of Alfred Namaoh Masikye the academic registrar Makerere University who gave him certified copies which he tendered in to Court as evidence.

The admission form which Mabirizi filed in Court indicates that Bobi Wine was born on 12th of February 1980 and studied from Kololo Senior Secondary School, Kitante Hill School and was admitted to the University when he was 20 years old.

This is not the first time Mabirizi is challenging Kyagulanyi’s academic papers, in 2020, he filed private criminal prosecution charges against him at Buganda Road Court, Wakiso Chief Magistrate Court and all the files were taken by the Directorate of Public Prosecution but up to now the case has not yet kicked off.

However, when contacted, Geofrey Turyamusiima one of Bobi Wine’s lawyers said that his client has not yet been served with Court summons.

He also boasted that Mabirizi was wasting his time because Bobi Wine was travelling to America.

But on Wednesday evening, Bobi Wine was blocked from entering US and was deported back to Uganda.

Bobi Wine explained that his deportation was related to the new COVID-19 restriction in the US.

Why I Was Blocked From Entering US – Bobi Wine

National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu

National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine has revealed why the United States officials  blocked him from entering their country.

In a post on his social media pages, Bobi wine narrated that he was blocked on Thursday morning because he failed to meet COVID-19 related requirements.

“Yesterday, I left Uganda for the United States of America via Qatar, to attend our Diaspora events including the Uganda Action Day and our Convention, all scheduled this weekend. When I got to Doha in Qatar, it was noted that I was in South Africa less than two weeks back. Apparently, there are still Coronavirus related restrictions for anyone who has been in South Africa (and a host of other countries) from proceeding to the United States until after fourteen days. Unfortunately, we didn’t detect this earlier. Officials at Entebbe were also unaware of this restriction so they did not advise in it,” Bobi narrated.

He added. “It is on that account that I had to cancel my onward travel to USA and return to Uganda this morning.

This notwithstanding, the planned activities this weekend will proceed. There are several NUP leaders who are already in the US including Hon. Zaake Francis, Hon. Kayemba Solo and Chairman Nyanzi. Other NUP leaders are also on their way to take part in the activities. I will also be part of the event virtually, together with a team of leaders who are not able to travel for one reason or another.

I apologise for any inconveniences this may cause to all of you who anticipated my physical presence at the Convention and other events. In the coming weeks, I’ll definitely be able to come for various interactions and events.”

NUP IN PANIC: MPs Ssegirinya, Ssewanyana Summoned Over Masaka Killings, Bobi Wine Worried…

Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya (L) and Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana (R)

There is panic in National Unity Platform (NUP) camp after the police Criminal Intelligence Department (CID) issued summons to some of their members.

In two separate letters dated 3rd September, signed by Paul Katto Tumuhimbise on behalf of the CID Director, Kawempe North Member of Parliament Muhammad Ssegirinya and Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana have been summoned to appear at Masaka Police Station on Monday 6th September 2021.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is investigating some murders that took place in Greater Masaka during the months of July and August 2021. This serves as summons for you to appear at Masaka Police Station on Monday 6th September 2021 at 1000 hours before D/SSP Moses Taremwa for a statement in respect to the said Investigations,” the letters read in part.

Police in the Greater Masaka have so far recorded 28 deaths in the recent new spate of attacks from machete wielding goons in the area.

The Minister of Information, Communications Technology, and National Guidance Dr. Chris Baryomunsi told the press on Monday that preliminary findings from ongoing investigations indicated that the criminals behind the attacks were sponsored by politicians to create fear within the population.

On Wednesday, President Yoweri Museveni warned those involved in these killings and branded them as pigs.

Commenting on the summoning of his men, Bobi Wine said, “As predicted, the Museveni regime has actualised their plan of implicating NUP leaders in the ongoing spate of murders in Greater Masaka. When mister Chris Baryomunsi alluded to this last week, it looked like an absolute joke,” he noted.

He added, “But as we now know, anything is possible in Uganda. They will do anything possible and go to any extent to achieve their absurd objectives. In fact, there is no regime whose evil schemes can be as accurately predicted as that in Uganda. As we speak, Hon. Muhammad Segirinya (MP Kawempe North) and Hon. Allan Ssewanyana (MP Makindye West) have been summoned to appear before CID next Monday in relation to the ongoing spate of murders.”
