TODAY’S HOTTEST FOOTBALL NEWS: We Want Pogba At Barcelona – Pique, Mourinho Sacking By December – Shearer, Chelsea For Sale….

GERARD PIQUE has revealed he wants Paul Pogba to sign for Barcelona – in a stunning interview with
The Nou Camp captain, 31, is due to take on former team-mate Neymar in a charity tournament at PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona tonight.
But in a candid interview before the event started, Pique waded in to discuss the ongoing furore around Pogba.
The 25-year-old is still at the top of Barcelona’s wanted list and Pique has revealed he is desperate for the midfielder to join as his war with boss Jose Mourinho rages on.
Asked directly about Pogba’s saga, Pique admitted: “I know very little about what’s happening there [with Pogba and Mourinho]. It’s very private between them, their relationship.
“What I know is Pogba is a great player and he plays for Manchester United right now. We will see in the future if he wants to change clubs.”
And in a transfer bombshell that will send shockwaves through Old Trafford, Pique – unprompted – turned the conversation with our man in Barcelona to a potential transfer.
“We will be happy to have him here, obviously. We want the best players to be at Barcelona,” he revealed.
“But we respect Manchester United because it’s his club. Until he says something or the club says something, he’s a Manchester United player.”
Spanish clubs have until Friday to sign players – meaning a deal for the World Cup winner could still happen.
Barca have shown before they are willing to wait to get their targets, having spent 18 months chasing Philippe Coutinho before landing him from Liverpool in a £142m deal in January.
Pogba, United’s £89million club record signing, was understood to be fuming last month when Mourinho refused to praise his efforts in helping France win the World Cup in Russia this summer.

Mourinho sacking by December – Shearer

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will be sacked before December if things don’t change at the club, according to Premier League legend Alan Shearer.
“Mourinho clearly is not happy having failed to land all the transfer targets he wanted and was promised,” Shearer told The Sun.
“Are he and Ed Woodward on the same page? Everyone needs to be very soon or a sorry chapter will be written in this proud club’s history.
“They might have hit a record share price, but Woodward needs to take control of the football club.
“They knew what they were getting with Jose. They knew the character, the style and they knew he wins trophies.
“Two in his first season was a good return. So why give him a new deal if you’re not going to back him?
“I have heard nothing from Woodward this season to tell me the manager has the backing of the club or owners.
“Yet if things continue as they are, Mourinho will be gone before December — and that is NOT good news for Manchester United.
“Why? Because they will be back to square one again.

I don’t know what my future at Liverpool is – Mignolet on future

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has questioned Jurgen Klopp’s “bizarre” decision to loan out Loris Karius and has intimated that he still wants to leave the club.
Karius has sealed a two-year loan to Besiktas, as announced at the weekend, leaving Mignolet’s future in the dark.
Speaking to Belgian news outlet Het Laatste Nieuws, Mignolet said: “The transfer of Karius doesn’t change anything for me. I have always been clear: I want to play.
“Being number two or number three makes little difference. Playing minutes is the most important thing.
“Nobody has said anything to me after the departure of Loris. So I don’t know what my future at Liverpool is. We will see what happens this week.
“I find it bizarre that Karius was loaned while I also had options to be loaned. But for some reason that was not possible.
“A goalkeeper who was preferred to me last year may leave on a loan basis. Strange.

    Chelsea for sale

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly set to put the club up for sale.
Chelsea could be sold to the highest bidder in the coming months if reports on Sunday are to be believed.
The Sunday Times claim the Russian billionaire is looking to get rid of Chelsea from his assets. It comes after the owner endured visa problems when trying to return to the UK this summer.
A £2bn offer from Britain’s richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the boss of petrochemicals company Ineos, has already been rejected by Abramovich this year.

    Madrid’s Mbappe plan

Real Madrid have made Kylian Mbappe their main Cristiano Ronaldo replacement target – but retain an interest in Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, according to reports.
Real Madrid have, so far, failed to sign a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo despite links to the likes of Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah and Neymar.
But Transfermarketweb say Los Blancos are now hellbent on landing Mbappe, with Chelsea’s Hazard also in their sights.
They have reportedly made Mbappe their ‘ultimate’ choice to fill the void left by Ronaldo’s departure.
PSG are currently the subject of a UEFA investigation and are reportedly struggling to pay Monaco the £166million they agreed to pay for Mbappe 12 months ago.
Madrid could now make their move for the Frenchman if he becomes available.

    Neville praises Alisson signing

Liverpool’s signing of Alisson Becker has been praised by Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, who thought Jurgen Klopp’s previous backing of Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet was ‘strange.’
Liverpool were previously determined to keep faith with Karius in the wake of his Champions League nightmare, while also keeping Mignolet on the books.
And Sky Sports pundit Neville thinks Klopp made the right decision to twist, rather than stick, with Liverpool now widely expected to challenge for honours.
He said: “At the end of last season when Jurgen Klopp said he was going to keep faith with the two goalkeepers he had, I thought it was strange.
“I didn’t see how that could happen if Liverpool were going to genuinely challenge for the title.
“I watched Alisson and he looked good with his feet, though a few things came off him from parrying.
“He passed his first test against Crystal Palace and I’m not necessarily looking forward to watching him, but I chose him in terms of answering the questions that need to be answered in a new league.”

Ozil exit from Arsenal to PSG

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil could leave for PSG or Real Madrid amid rumours of a bust-up with Unai Emery, according to the bookies.
The Germany international missed yesterday’s 3-1 win over West Ham, with Emery pinning his absence on illness.
Since then, though, reports have emerged suggesting Ozil chose not to partake in the game because of a furious bust-up with his Arsenal manager.
Coral think PSG and former club Real Madrid are his likeliest destinations should he opt to pursue a new challenge elsewhere.
AC Milan and Bayern Munich have then been made available to sign the 2014 World Cup winner.
