TODAY’S LATEST FOOTBALL NEWS: I Want Three Bodyguards – Ronaldo Asks Juventus, Pogba Tells Man Utd He Wants Juventus Move To Play With Ronaldo, Liverpool Goalkeeper Alisson Exchanged Words With Teammate After Howler

Cristiano Ronaldo has asked Juventus for at least three bodyguards to look after him and his family in Turin.
Ronaldo moved to Juventus in the summer following nine years at Real Madrid, and has been getting used to life in northern Italy.
According to the Corriere di Torino newspaper, the Ballon d’Or winner is concerned his villa in the Gran Madre park is too exposed.
The former Manchester United man asked Juve to organise two security guards, one for his family and one to keep an eye on the villa at all times, plus a third bodyguard to accompany him everywhere he goes.
Ronaldo is setting down roots in Turin, as his son Cristiano Jr has started training in the Juventus youth academy.
He has played two Serie A games so far, a 3-2 win at Chievo and a 2-0 home victory over Lazio.
Ronaldo has had a sensational career, with many believing him to be up there with Lionel Messi as the greatest player of all time. He has won five European Cups, a host of league titles, and Euro 2016 with Portugal. And there’s plenty more still to come.

Paul Pogba tells Man Utd he wants Juventus move to play with Cristiano Ronaldo

Paul Pogba has told Manchester United that he wants to quit Old Trafford and return to Juventus in January according to Sunday Express.
Pogba has given the club notice that he is determined to leave when the next transfer window opens, in order to allow them a few months to find a replacement.
Pogba, 25, returned to United two years ago from the Italian giants for a then-world-record £89.3million transfer fee – but has struggled to recapture his most outstanding form.
His relationship with United boss Jose Mourinho is said to have broken down – possibly to the point of no return – leaving him little option but to seek a move away.
He has been a target for Barcelona, who were expected to return next summer with another offer – because the Spanish club were hoping that United lowered their demands.
Pogba has made it clear that he wants to return to Turin and play in the same team as Cristiano Ronaldo, who moved to Juventus from Real Madrid in the summer.
United have lost two of their opening three games this season – and a long drawn-out transfer saga will be the last thing they will want as they bid to kick-start their season.
United could hope to bring in more than £100m if they were to sell Pogba, with his marketability as attractive as his talent.
But they would likely need to spend around the same in order to replace the midfielder, who won the World Cup with France in July.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson exchanged words with teammate after howler

The Brazilian is a very good goalkeeper, but he’s also a bold one. He is reminiscent of Fabian Barthez; always looking to take risks in possession.
Like the former Manchester United number one, sometimes those risks will lead to mistakes, and sometimes those mistakes will prove costly.
That’s exactly what happened at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. With Liverpool 2-0 and seemingly cruising, Alisson received a backpass from Virgil van Dijk. It was a poor pass from the Dutchman, admittedly, one which put his keeper under pressure with Kelechi Iheanacho sprinting towards him.
However, in a fatal error of judgement, instead of booting the ball out for a throw, Alisson decided to dawdle, get the ball caught between his feet and lose out to Iheanacho. The Foxes striker then squared to Rachid Ghezzal, who fired home to give Leicester hope.
“We talked about that in the dressing room and I spoke to Virgil,” Alisson said. “It wasn’t a good pass but I could have just kicked it long.”
“I wanted to keep playing and keep the possession. Now everyone is going to analyse that. I’m not going to be stupid and make the same mistake. We have to learn from our mistakes.”
Ultimately, it didn’t cost the Reds any points as Jurgen Klopp’s men made it four wins from four to top the Premier League table. The German seemed reasonably relaxed regarding Alisson’s error post-game.
“I said to him, it’s the best game to do it because we still won the game and we ticked that box. As a team, we are still in the period where we have to adapt to each other and not use him in the wrong moments. He’s not the solution for us, he’s an option,” Klopp said.
“But we all have to learn to use it in the right way still. That means, pass the ball in the right moment, then immediately make another offer for him, open some passing options. That’s the job for the team, play the pass in the right moment, not on a dry pitch and not hard enough.
“Don’t do it in these moments. That was a mistake – no goalkeeper in the world should dribble in that situation. But he did it. But it’s all OK. For me, much more interesting is how the reaction was and it was good. We still used him in better situations. The crowd wanted to make him a bit nervous but he didn’t look nervous. That helps a lot. Then it’s all fine. Football is a game where a lot of mistakes happen over 90 minutes.”
Klopp’s right. It’s fine for now. Should Alisson make another mistake like that, however, and cost Liverpool points, the German coach may not be as unflustered.

Mourinho told Woodward not to sign Ronaldo, United boss is furious

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho urged Old Trafford transfer chiefs not to make a move for Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
The Portugal talisman quit Real Madrid before the start of this season, opting to join Juventus.
The Red Devils were linked with a move for their former talisman, with United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward keen to reunite with the 33-year-old.
However, according to the Daily Mirror, Mourinho told United transfer chiefs not to sign Ronaldo following his Real exit.
They say the Special One demanded United sign defensive reinforcements rather than pay around £100m for Ronaldo, who would have pocketed in the region of £500,000-a-week at Old Trafford.
However, Mourinho’s demands were not met as United failed to sign a new centre-back.
Toby Alderweireld, Harry Maguire and Diego Godin were all targets for Mourinho, however, Woodward refused to pay up in the transfer window.
The Mirror adds that Mourinho is still furious with Woodward for not backing him this summer.
Woodward’s willingness to move for an ageing Ronaldo this summer enraged the United boss even more.
The Red Devils welcome Ronaldo back in October when Juventus travel to Old Trafford in the Champions League.

    Messi to Man City?

Lionel Messi was the subject of a mistaken £30m bid from Manchester City when he was first making his name at Barcelona.
An incredible story of how City made a move for Messi after being taken over 10 years ago has now been dug out by The Guardian’s Daniel Taylor.
And it recounts how former City chief Garry Cook launched the bid having failed to realise what had actually been said to him on the phone.
“Not everything has run as intended since Sheikh Mansour added the club to his portfolio,” Taylor wrote for The Guardian.
“Cook’s 83-page blueprint pledged to turn them into ‘the Virgin of Asia and the world’ with their own line of energy drinks, City-branded Mini Coopers, scooters, telephone cards, designer clothing stores and a chain of City Eating fast-food restaurants.
“Those plans never took off and – no apologies for repeating this story – Cook’s greatest moment came early on, discussing transfer targets with the new owners on a crackling telephone line from Abu Dhabi to Manchester.
“A comment about ‘it’s getting messy’ was misheard and Cook immediately fired off a £30m bid to Barcelona.
“Apparently, he heard the instruction, amid all the excitement, as ‘let’s get Messi’.”

Neymar to Chelsea or Arsenal – not Man Utd

Neymar would rather move to Chelsea or Arsenal than one of the Manchester giants, Express Sport can exclusively reveal.
The PSG star got Manchester City fans excited in the summer when he reiterated his desire to play under Pep Guardiola.
But Neymar is unlikely to ever swap Paris for Manchester – because he is in love with London.
Express Sport understands the Brazilian, 25, has privately told friends he would rather move to Chelsea or Arsenal than United or City – if he was ever to join the Premier League.
Neymar isn’t fluent in English but he is learning and his language skills are improving.
A source close to the player told Express Sport: “He loves England – but mainly London. He has been there three or four times in the last 12 months.
“He says there is always something about London.
“The last time he kept ringing me up and begging me to join him because he loved it so much.
“He kept saying ‘this place is amazing, this place is amazing’. He just loves London.”
Neymar arrived at PSG from Barcelona a year ago for £200million – the biggest transfer fee in history.
He signed a contract which runs until 2022 but it’s believed Neymar will not see out his deal.
The Brazilian, who flopped at the World Cup in Russia, isn’t against a move back to Spain and it seems more likely La Liga – and not the Prem – will be his next destination.
Real Madrid showed an interest in the player this summer which prompted PSG to deny he was for sale.
