Exiled Ugandan Woman In Fear For Her Life Over Deadly Human Traffickers

Published

on

A Ugandan woman by the names of Olivia Kasule sneaked out of the country into exile and is on the run for fear of her life after a group of people started sending her threatening messages threatening to kidnap her.

Speaking to this website without disclosing the country where she is staying right now, Olivia said that six months back, she was kidnapped by deadly human traffickers and whisked out of the country. Speaking fearfully, Kasule told us that she was duped by human traffickers that they had a juicy job in an Arab country.

When she was taken to this Arab country, she put under the custody of some Arabian men in a tall building where suffered all sorts of mistreatments and hard labour for six months.

With the help of a good Samaritan, she was promised to be flown back home. She narrated that because the traffickers knew her relatives, they continued sending them threatening messages of killing her if she steps on Ugandan soil.

Kasule told us that she was advised by her friends to open up a case at Wakiso police station on file number SD Ref/32/04/09/2019 but the police did nothing to apprehend the suspects.

According to Kasule’s statement at Wakiso district, she identified the suspects as Sarah Kaweke, Robert Dayika, Agnes Okello and Joseph Musoke. Kasule told us that because of not getting assistance from police she decided to run into exile.

In July this year, Moses Binoga, the officer, head of anti-human trafficking said he had received reports of Ugandan victims who had been trafficked after being promised juicy jobs but ended up in forced prostitution.

His concern was re-echoed by the Malaysian consul in Uganda, businessman Hajji Habibu Kagimu. Kagimu said that he had been involved in bailing out Ugandan victims of forced prostitution after individuals who recruit them on the streets instead sell them to another racket of gangsters for forced prostitution.

FINDING NAGIRINYA’S KILLERS: CID Detectives On Late Nagirinya’s Murder Case Interrogate Family Members As CMI Dispatches Deadly Operatives To Hunt For Killers…

Published

on

Top detectives who are on the task of unmasking the assailants who kidnaped and later murdered Maria Nagirinya, a project manager with Community Integrated Development Initiative (CIDI), a non-governmental organization based in Muyenga Kampala and her driver Ronald Kitayimbwa have continued to interrogate her close family members.

Sources in police homicide division have told the Grapevine that among the people who were grilled are those who were with the deceased on the last day when he was kidnapped. It’s should be remembered that on the day she was kidnapped, Nagirinya spent the later hours at the home of Sylvia Nakayenga, commonly known as Maama Vienney in Nalumunye Jomayi Estate in Kyengera town council.

Nakayenga is a city businesswoman and a close friend to Mzee Francis  Lubowa, a seasoned politician and the father to late Nagirinya. Detectives on the investigating team revealed that Nagirinya always visited Nakayenga whenever she wanted to booze and detectives wanted to know whether she told Nakayenga anything before leaving in the late hours.

Lawrence Kitayimbwa’s brother told this reporter that it was Nakayenga who called his brother to go and pick the drunk Nagirinya from her home. When contacted to confirm Lawrence’s statements, Charles Twine the spokesperson of the directorate of Criminal Intelligence Directorate said that the detectives are tirelessly working and they will leave no stone unturned. He confirmed that they have interrogated a number of people including family members but he refused to reveal their names.

Atwine told the Grapevine that if they reveal the names of the people they have interrogated, it will create enmity and divisions among the family members because they will start pointing fingers at each other.

He told us that they are also trying to protect the people who are helping the detectives in investigating the matter because they are all potential witnesses in court and they fear exposing them. When we asked Atwine to confirm our source’s information that the detectives who are investigating this murder have been joined by other from other intelligent agencies like Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), he said that they are working with a number of combative and non-combative detectives to reach the killers.

Efforts to speak to Brigadier Richard Kalemire were futile since he has been not picking our calls.
